The Animated Series' Showrunner Is Aware of Fans' Second Season Predictions β And She Has Positive Updates
The much-anticipated Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel launches on Prime Video soon, and fan speculation has been widespread.
Season 1 introduces a diverse group of characters residing in Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds accompanied by musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and establishes heated competitions and angsty, affectionate connections that drive audience devotion.
The fandom's stated hopes for the new season differ greatly, but certain themes emerge over and over: Will Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the binding agreement affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?
"Naturally, I don't make the show with fan service as the main goal," the showrunner stated earlier this year. "However I believe that me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I hope some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
The creator reveals her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.
That could imply viewers have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs β but they could be shocked at how fast season 2 progresses, and how many of what they're waiting for unfolds this season.
"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," the creator notes. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some really amazing reveals, some really cool backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. [β¦] Audiences will experience much more singing from the previously silent cast members."
The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about season 2 β especially in the format of fan bingo cards.
"I've seen a couple people create a bingo card about season 2," she says. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've actually done some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."
Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on the streaming service on October 29.
